Mountain Winery: A Love that Reaches the Sky

Located high on the skyline ridge at the northern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Thomas Fogarty Winery was the perfect venue for the wedding Andres and Michael dreamed of. Their desire was to declare their love for one another with friends and family on one side of them and soaring sky on the other. They also wanted a vineyard wedding that offered them the feeling of total exclusivity for the entire day. We found all of these elements at the Thomas Fogarty Winery.

Following a stunning ceremony high on a hillside where sky met the earth, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres along a wrap-around veranda overlooking the vineyard. That patio opened up into an expansive seating area where we designed tables set with flowers that also evoked heaven and earth. On each table, flowers in shades of fiery orange of the sky were accented with deep purple flowers reminiscent of the night sky. The same flower design was used to decorate a photo area we had created of the couple and their families.

As day turned to night, the sky itself once again became part of the wedding and the perfect backdrop for photos of guests and of the couple, not to mention the stunning cake! The evening continued late into the night with dancing and dessert (oh, and a Cher impersonator)!

By focusing on the winery venue and all it had to offer, this was one wedding for which love was as grounded in the earth of the vines as it was fixed in the heavens above. Congratulations Andres and Michael!
